Sharing information regarding Military Medals of South Africa
After collecting War Medals for over 40 years I believe my experiences, information and knowledge of South African Medals and Decorations should be shared with other enthusiasts. Over the many years of collecting I have been fortunate to have known some incredible people who have shared their knowledge with me and now it’s time for me to do the same.
This website will deal with the following:
South African WW1 medals – details of regiments, naming, styles and general issues.
South African WW2 medals – details of regiments, naming styles, service number block issues, prefixes and general issues.
South Africans in Korea 1950-1953 – medal details.
Modern SADF – types and styles of issue, naming and numbering styles.
South African Long Service medals – types and styles of issue, naming styles.
This will be a work in progress and I will update the pages as soon as I have information prepared. I would be grateful for any comments and additional information that can be shared with all.
